that awesome moment when you’ve finished reading a really good book and you see it in a store then you cunningly smile at it as if you had an affair with it.
If you and I are truly friends there is a 100% chance of us playfighting sometime,me drawing on any paper I can find, yelling at you in another language when intoxicated, and you seeing me eat the equivalent of six days’ worth of food.
Can we be true friends?
Hell yeah! We’ve gotta do it!
I gotta meet you irl man

it’s nice to see people who look more like me on my dash.
I love to see the celebration of all women’s bodies.
I love seeing how fierce and happy these women look.
They should have called me and flew me in. I would have worked that.
My mom is Mexican.
From Mexican parents, she was very poor and she loved going to school but they were so poor that when my grandma (rip) couldn’t pay for elementary school anymore, she sneaked into the classroom in hopes the teacher wouldn’t notice her, with nothing but a piece of paper and a broken pencil. Of course the teacher did, and then she informed my mom’s godmother who decided to pay for her to finish 6th grade (in Mexico).
She then married my father and started reading a lot. She read and read, and read, and now my mom is one of the smartest people I’ve known. Not only smart, but wise as well. And she always tells anyone who listens how she loved going to school and how she wishes she could have gotten into a college, made a career.
My mom told me today, as my brother was boarding the plane, that my brother had told her:
"Mom, I didn’t get into Harvard alone: WE got into Harvard, you and me, because it’s thanks to you that I’m here, because you pushed me, because you taught me to love learning and to love reading and to love school"
And my mom’s eyes were all watery. And this is why I’m so proud of my family. My mom, my brother, my dad, my sister, everyone!
I love my family so much. I don’t know what I’d do without them.
And here’s my brother leaving for Boston. He spent 2 weeks with us and left today.
I’ll miss him but he’ll be back in August.
Amazing story blessings and well wishes to you and your beautiful family!
I like talking shit but I can back it up.
